I retired from my federal civil service job on January 28, 2025. I had a regular doctor's appointment a couple of weeks earlier. I was 286 pounds. Today, I weighed myself and I am 268 pounds. I am positive, retiring helped me to lose weight.
I don't think I ever ate healthy during my close to 30 years at the job. I was sedentary most of the day, though I was occasionally active. I would eat the occasional junk food while sitting at my desk.
For the past few weeks I have been eating differently. More vegetables. I eat smaller portions more. I don't care for outside fried foods as much as I used to. I will eat my own, but I think restaurants may overuse oil. Whatever they do, I don't like their fried foods as much as I used to.
Whatever the case, I aim to lose a few more pounds before the beginning of the summer.
